Special Educational Needs

Under the banner of Wessex Mediation, Special Educational Needs mediation is delivered through a partnership with Mediation Dorset. Since 2001 the two services have been contracted by South West Local Authorities (LA's) to provide Special Educational Needs mediation between parents schools and LA's.

This service is offered as the government requires all LA's to provide an independent service to help when parents/carers and the education authorities cannot agree on how to meet a child’s special educational needs.
