Peer mediation schemes can help resolve physical and psychological bullying, it reduces teasing and put-downs. It can help with anti social behaviour when linked to Restorative Practice.
The training develops important life skills of:
- How to listen;
- how to cooperate;
- how to talk about feelings;
- how to deal with anger;
- how to mediate and not fight;
- how to help others resolve disagreements and
- how to get what they want but get it well!
This enjoyable programme and method of learning helps children of primary and secondary school age develop in confidence, win friends and improve self-esteem. Where a whole school approach is adopted problems in the school environment are less likely to fester.
The programme normally takes 15 hours of trainer contact time, how its delivered can be arranged to fit in with the requirements of the school.
