Mediator Training

Mediation Somerset trains all its mediators to the required Mediation UK NOCN accredited Training in Community Mediation Skills. Having successfully completed the 40-hour training programme volunteers then commence casework in the field as a trainee, observed and supported by an experienced mediator. Mediators are expected to apply for competency assessment to Mediation UK when their period as a trainee mediator is successfully completed.

Mediators are supported by service supervisors who meet with them four times a year to review casework and support mediator practice.
